Paul Michalewicz
From an early age, I was drawn to the captivating world of audio equipment. Tape machines, microphones, guitars—I couldn't resist their allure. As a child, I transformed my surroundings into makeshift recording studios, conducting interviews, sampling sounds, and even capturing thunderstorms. These moments held a special place in my heart, igniting a passion for preserving time and encapsulating memories.
In the nascent stages of our band, we recorded our original compositions with a humble Radioshack computer mic, strategically positioned in our jam room. Although the sound quality was far from perfect, it served its purpose, allowing us to showcase our musical abilities to our friends. Those were the days of laborious uploads on the internet and engaging in spirited exchanges on message boards—an era filled with excitement and camaraderie.
Several years and tours later, in 2007, our first band decided to part ways after a somewhat successful journey, enriched by the friendships we forged along the way. This experience humbled me and propelled me forward, driving me to hone my instrumental skills and embark on the path of recording once again. I invested in a semi-professional Pro Tools recording rig, taking inspiration from a respected figure who had recently collaborated with our band.
After experimenting with recording and producing demos for friends, I yearned to deepen my expertise. Determined to explore the music industry and innovative music strategies, I enrolled in a two-year master certificate program in Music Business & Technology at Berklee Online. This educational journey expanded my knowledge base exponentially, equipping me with advanced studio techniques and comprehensive insights into the industry. I completed the program with honors, honored further by receiving a Celebrity Scholarship from the esteemed Grammy award-winning mixer Ed Cherney, renowned for his work with legends like Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, and The Rolling Stones.
Since then, I've had the privilege of collaborating with talented individuals across Canada, infusing their projects with astounding creativity. I firmly believe that true artistry deserves unwavering energy and commitment. Whether it's orchestrating a fully dynamic jazz session or crafting an electrifying rock record, I am dedicated to bringing your vision to life. Passion fuels my work, and I continuously push boundaries, exploring new techniques to infuse each project with a fresh and captivating essence.

After spending countless hours jamming in my best friend's living room, armed with nothing more than a small 2-track cassette recorder, I discovered my true calling: creating music. That raw and natural feeling of those early days ignited a passion within me that has burned brightly for over 20 years.
Throughout my musical journey, I have been a dedicated player, writer, and recording enthusiast. It all began with a five-piece band consisting of my closest friends, as we poured our hearts into covering tracks by The Used and Story of the Year. As time went on, I had the privilege of joining established bands and embarking on exhilarating adventures, traveling far and wide to share our music with the world.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and brought everything to a standstill, I found myself at a crucial juncture. The music industry became increasingly challenging to navigate, prompting me to consider a "Plan B." I decided to explore other avenues and enrolled in a school program. However, it quickly became evident that my heart belonged to music and the creative process. The passion I felt when playing and crafting new sounds was unmatched. With this realization, I made the bold choice to leave the detour behind and focus wholeheartedly on recording and mixing.
Embracing this renewed sense of purpose, I began reaching out to fellow recording artists and engineers, eager to connect and collaborate. I dived headfirst into refining my skills, pushing the boundaries of sound, and seeking out talented artists to work with. Today, I am thrilled to have a few remarkable records already under my belt, and my enthusiasm for the next project is stronger than ever.
